Fair and Exhibition Membership Criteria
A fair or exhibition that is interested in applying to become a member of the BC Association of Agricultural Fairs and Exhibitions must meet the mandate of the association's bylaws:
Membership
Any Association in British Columbia which has held an annual fair or exhibition for the previous two years shall be eligible for membership provided that:
- the fair or exhibition has met the current approved criteria regarding the number of categories as approved by the Board of Directors.
- all profits are used for the improvements of the fair, grounds, buildings etc. or for the advancement of agriculture.
- the association is currently registered and in good standing under the Society Act, the Farmers' and Women's Institute Act or under an independent act of the province of British Columbia.
- a fair or exhibition association seeking membership in The BC Association of Agricultural Fairs & Exhibitions must hold such possible membership in abeyance until an evaluation of their fair or exhibition has been completed.
Fairs and Exhibitions are required to have 10 recognized agricultural categories (refer to list below). To apply, complete the membership application form, include a copy of your non-profit registration, list of agricultural categories held at your fair and financial statements for two years.
